Stop calling each other names – MAM
Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has advised Muslims in the country to desist from name calling syndrome saying Islam is one.
MAM National Chairman, Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad made the appeal when he officially opened new masjid and a three classrooms madrassah block constructed at Kawumbwe Village in the Traditional Authority Kumtumanji in Zomba district.
Sheikh Muhammad said Islam is one as it is based on five pillars so Muslims in Malawi should stop quarrelling on minor issues.
Sheikh Muhammad said time has come to our mindset and take every Muslim as a brother.
He said it is of this background that MAM is constructing masjids in all corners of the country without looking at such minor issues.
The National Chair also took advantage of the gathering to urge Muslims to pray for good rains this year.
He said it is very important for Muslims to pray for good in every Friday and daily prayers.
In his remarks Village Headman Kawumbwe commended MAM for taking the welfare of the Muslims in the country at heart.
Village Headman Kawumbwe said Muslims in the area are very grateful to MAM saying it take the leadership commitment to bring such projects to its followers living in the rural areas.
The village head pleaded with MAM to provide relief food as many people have not harvested enough produce this year.
Both the masjid and a block were constructed with the financial support from the United Arab Emirates Aid through Dubai Charity Association.
