Son Kills Father Over Mangoes

Son has killed father over Mangoes at Milare in Blantyre district.

Public relations officer for Blantyre police station sub-Inspector Augustus Nkhwazi said Arthur Maliro aged 22 allegedly hit his father with a bottle to death.

Nkhwazi said on December 16, 2018 Maliro was plucking green mangoes from a nearby tree.

“His father advised him against doing so saying the mangoes were not ripe. This angered the suspect who picked a glass bottle and hit his father in the head,” explained Nkhwazi.

He said the deceased collapsed and was rushed to Mpemba health centre where death was pronounced.

The body was referred to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital pending postmortem.

Both the deceased George Maliro 58 and the suspect Arthur Maliro hail from Nsomba village Traditional Authority Nsomba in Blantyre.

The suspect will answer charges of murder.
