Saudi Organisation Donates To Flood Victims In Malawi
Saudi Arabia’s International Organization for Relief, Welfare and Development has donated items to 3 260 households who were affected by floods in Mangochi, Salima and Balaka.
Speaking when distributing the items at Nansenga in the area of Senior Chief Mponda, Mangochi, Director of the organization Salah El-Bably said heavy rains and floods have left many families in the districts devastated, hence the donation.
“We thought of donating to flood victims in Malawi as they lack basic necessities,” said El-Bably
One of the beneficiaries Adam Phiri expressed gratitude towards the donation saying communities needed food to sustain their families.
He has meanwhile blamed the council for constructing substandard bridges which are blocking water flow to the lake hence causing the floods.
