President Calls For Human Rights Protection

President Professor peter Mutharika has called upon stakeholders to accelerate efforts for promoting and protecting human rights.

Mutharika has made the call as Malawi joins the rest of the world in commemorating international human rights day which falls on 10th December, every year.

In a statement Mutharika has reminded all persons that respect for human rights is central to the consolidation of democratic governance.

“There is no justification for violating other people’s rights in the exercise of one’s rights,” stressed Mutharika

He says accountability is a key to the promotion and protection of human rights.
