President Approves Reforms In Constitutional Bodies

President Peter Mutharika has approved reforms in 4 constitutional bodies.

Chief Director in Public sector reforms management under office of president and cabinet Seod White says the bodies are financial intelligence authority, law commission, office of director of public officer’s declaration and parliament of Malawi.

White says in parliament the reforms will help to improve attendance and security of Members of parliament as well a save time on voting and counting among others.

She explains that the reforms in Law commission will result in streamlining law review process into efficient and cost effective.

White adds that “after the reforms there will also be improved access to financial and related information as well as compliance in terms of submissions and completeness of declarations.”

Currently the reforms are being implemented in all 17 government ministries, 35 local authorities and 54 parastatal organizations.
