PP officials in trouble
One of the political commentators Vincent Kondowe has blamed current administration for continued unfair application of justice in the country.
Kondowe made the remarks following the arrest of Cecilia Kumpukwe a sister and aide to PP president Joyce Banda few days ago and invasion of Malawi Revenue Authority into the house of the party’s Rumphi East parliamentarian Kamlepo Kaluwa.
“The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is doing anything possible to kill PP by weakening the party’s top officials,” said Kondowe.
Therefore he has asked DPP to stop using public institutions like police, MRA and ACB to punish people who do not associate with the ruling party especially opposition leaders.
On the future of People’s Party in as far as 2019 elections is concerned, Kondowe said the party has no structures which can help it survive.
“PP like other political parties will die a natural death because does not have strong structures,” emphasised Kondowe.
Few months ago ant corruption bureau arrested acting president of PP Uladi Mussa for allegedly assisting foreigners to obtain passports when he was minister of home affairs.
