Police arrests thugs who block M1 road

Malawi Police Service MPS has arrested nine thugs for blocking and robbery on M1 road around Lizulu in Ntcheu district

Deputy public relations officer for MPS Inspector Harry Namwaza says the suspected criminals were blocking the road with stones at Kachipeya near Lizulu trading centre

The arrests effected in the wee hours of Wednesday April, 20 comes after an intelligence drive raid was conducted by Ntcheu police

Some dangerous weapons including panga knives were seized from the suspects

Other suspects were arrested few years ago on similar charges in Ntcheu district
