Plane crashes in Malawi

A plane has crashed in the village near Kamuzu International Airport KIA in Lilongwe

Acting director general of civil aviation department Samuel Kalua the small place which had two people on board is used to train people who want to be pilots

Kalua said the trainer and trainee came out of the plane on their own and were rushed to Lumbazi health facility for checkup but look stable

He further said the plane of Cessina 150 belonging to East Rise Academy developed an engine fault few minutes after its takeoff from KIA

According to Kalua after 14 minutes from takeoff while at a distance of 500 feet from the land the trainer told air traffic controller that the plane had engine failure.
