Patient Dies in Ambulance Accident in Malawi

A patient has died after an ambulance was involved in a road accident in Lilongwe.

Confirming the incident public relations officer for Kanengo police sub inspector Labani Makalani said the ambulance was referring that patient and two guardians to Kamuzu central hospital from Mtengowanthenga health centre.

Makalani said upon arrival at Area 25 junction the ambulance collided with the vehicle.

“Due to the impact about five people in both vehicles including the patient sustained minor injuries and were rushed to Kamuzu central hospital,” said Makalani

The patient was pronounced dead upon arrival at the health centre and postmortem results showed that death was not due to injuries sustained during the accident.
