PAC condemns Violence ahead of Elections

Public Affairs Committee PAC has condemned violence that has engulfed the country ahead of 2025 general elections.

Chairperson of PAC Patrick Thawale has cited the violence on Democratic progressive party members in Lilongwe, during by-elections, Blantyre incident where president motorcade was stopped and stoning of presidential convoy in Chikwawa

Thawale says is disturbing to learn about the alleged removal of flags for Democratic Progressive Party DPP in Chikwawa during the president’s visit last week

“With the recent development there is overwhelming evidence that this spate of violence will reach alarming levels in 2025 electoral process,” Thawale.

PAC has therefore urged political parties to avoid establishing no-go zone to prevent violence
