PAC elective conference begins
Public Affairs Committee PAC annual general meeting has started with a call to religious leaders to champion co-existence
In his opening speech the outgoing PAC chair reverend Felix Chingota said the Quasi religious group is going to ensure that people are prepared for the court ruling.
Chingota said “the group will not stop guiding the country’s leadership in as far as co-existence and rule of law is concerned.”
In his remarks one of the social political analysts Humphrey Mvula asked faith leaders to be independent and stand with the people.
Mvula bemoaned the tendency of religious leaders who are dividing PAC.
“Religious leaders should preach message of peace and tell political leaders the truth of how things are on the ground,” said Mvula
The conference through which new office bearers will be elected is being held under the theme: committing our renewed actions and efforts towards electoral and constitutional reforms for social, economic and political development on Malawi.
The outgoing committee was elected in 2016.
