Ombudsman finds two candidates not qualified for ACB Director
Ombudsman Grace Malera has found that Hillary Chilomba and Oscar Taulo did not qualify to be shortlisted and interviewd for the position of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) director general.
In her investigation findings Malera says Taulo, at the time of shortlisting despite possessing a master’s degree in law and had not attained at least 10 years post qualification work experience as required.
The Ombudsman further, says Chilomba was irregularly shortlisted as he did not satisfy the requirements of the position.
Ombudsman Grace Malera said on 22 November 2024, her office received a complaint the office received a complaint about irregularities and unprocedural shortlisting.
She said the complaint alleged that some candidates did not have the required academic and professional certificates.
The Ombudsman has since directed the ministry of justice to among others disqualify Chilomba and Taulo in the recruitment process of the ACB DG job.
