NEST urges MEC to extend voter registration exercise with one week in each phase.

National Elections Systems Trust NEST has appealed to Malawi electoral Commission to extend the voter registration exercise with one week in each phase.

NEST executive director Unandi Banda said this few days after Malawi electoral Commission MEC completed the last phase of the voter registration exercise ahead of the 2025 general elections.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Unandi Banda said the voter registration exercise has gone  well and has commended MEC for the job well done.

However, Banda says  it is very important to  for MEC to extend the registration exercise so that it clear out concerns that some stakeholders have on how the registration exercise.

He then called upon all Malawians who have not registered to come out in large numbers and register once MEC opens up its centres during the extension of registration period.
