MWO Coordinator Asiyatu Lipenga has died
National Coordinator of Muslim Women Organisation (MWO) Sister Asiyatu Lipenga has died.
According to the family member, Rasheed Chingolo, Sister Lipenga passed on last night at Adventist hospital in Blantyre.
Late Sister Lipenga was one of the founding members of MWO, the women arm of Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM).
But reacting to the death, MAM described it as a big loss to Muslim community because she dedicated her life in promoting Islam in the country.
MAM Publicity Secretary Sheikh Dinala Chabulika said Sister Lipenga was a pillar in fighting for welfare of women in the country.
Sheikh Chabulika however was quick to say as Muslims, they need to accept Allah’s will and urged all Muslims to pray for the departed sister that Allah should forgive her shortcomings.
