Muslims donate to Queens and MH prison
As preparations for Eid el fitri celebration are underway Al haqq Islamic trust and a social network of Muslim women have donated food items valued at 350,000kwacha to under- five clinic at Queen Elizabeth central hospital.
Speaking after the donation director of Al haqq Islamic trust Maulana shiraz said the donation has been made as part of eid celebrations.
“aS Muslims will be celebrating the end of Ramadhan it is necessary to share with others,” said Shiraz.
Speaking after receiving the donation one of the guardians said it is timely as they lack basic necessities.
Meanwhile, Mangochi radio Islam listeners association has donated assorted items at Mangochi prison.
Speaking to radio Islam after donating some rice, sugar and salt, secretary of the association Islam Rajab said they have donated the items because Islam encourages Muslims to assist each other.
“There is need to help prisoners in order to remind them on the oneness of Allah,” Rajab said.
Speaking after receiving the donation one of the inmates thanked the association for its assistance.
He said they will use the food in breaking their fasting and asked other well-wishers to assist them.
