Muslim Association Of Malawi Condemns Insulting Islam
Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has pleaded with Muslims in the country to hold their patience on the issue regarding the artist who has released a song aimed at insulting Islam.
The appeal comes after a singer known as Mesho released a song which calls for the elimination of masjids from Malawian land so that people should be able to consume pork, a meat which is prohibited in Islam.
Publicity Secretary of MAM, Sheikh Dinala Chabulika, told Radio Islam that MAM is aware of the matter and has already launched a complaint to relevant authorities.
Sheikh Chabulika said MAM understands the anger Muslims have in the country but Islam teaches to use proper channels when misunderstandings arise.
MAM has also advised Muslims to avoid commenting on issues of national interest affecting Muslims saying MAM is the mouthpiece for the Muslim community in the country.
