MSE calls local entrepreneurs to list companies
A call has been made to local entrepreneurs to list their companies on the Malawi Stoke Exchange MSE to grow indigenous investments.
This has been said in Blantyre at Malawi Stock Exchange Debt Market Symposium MSE organized under the Theme ‘Creating Value and Wealth on the MSE Debt Market’.
During panel discussion, Indigenous Business Association of Malawi IBAM President Mike Mlombwa took to task MSE claiming the stoke market does not give room to local businesses to access it.
“Most of the companies listed are foreign based with Billions of kwachas in capital while indigenous investors find it difficult to penetrate the stock market,” Mlombwa
Speaking to Radio Islam Chief Executive Officer for MSE John Robson Kamanga, said aim of the symposium is to bring awareness to local business operators so that they realize the need to invest in bonds at Malawi Stock Exchange.
Kamanga said “Malawi stock exchange Market is open to everybody as long as they follow rules and regulations.”
The symposium brought together business captains, managers, directors from Capital Markets, Reserve Bank of Malawi representatives, academicians and students from universities.
