Mozambicans Jailed In Malawi Of Robbery
The Dalton court in Limbe, Malawi has jailed two Mozambicans to 50 months imprisonment with hard labour for breaking offences.
Deputy Media and Public relations officer for Limbe Police station Widson Mshane says the suspects are Saulosi Kanyada 33 and Malunga Kanyada 38 both from Sambwelambwe village TA Chindiwo in Majawa district-Mozambique.
Mshane said it was during the night of 5th May 2018 when the duo stole 12.5 million kwacha from one of the shops in Limbe.
Among the stolen goods were 12 laptops, 3 monitors and plasma television screens plus 5 million kwacha cash.
After investigations police arrested the two in Mozambique are which is bordering Thyolo district in Thekerani and some of the stolen items were also recovered in the process.
They pleaded guilty to the offense of breaking into a building and committing a felony therein when they appeared before second grade magistrate Patrick Mwamale.
State prosecutor inspector Daluni prayed for stiffer custodial sentence a thing which the magistrate concurred.
