Ministry warns Schools against Summer Lessons
Ministry of education has warned all public and private schools against asking learners to go back for summer lessons
The Ministry says will not condone such malpractice and schools going against the policy risk disciplinary actions
Public relations officer Mphatso Nkuonera says “the malpractice gives learners no room to rest, disadvantages those from vulnerable families but gives room for some teachers to deliberately fail to complete planned work with the school calendar.”
Nkuonera says the 2023 to 2024 Academic Calender will commence on 11 September 2023
Many Schools began teaching summer lessons on Monday 24 July until 25 August while others from Monday 31 July until 1 September
The Schools are charging the pupils 8000 to 10000 kwacha as fees to carter for teachers transport
