Ministry completes Net distribution in 15 Districts

Ministry of health says has completed net distribution exercise in 15 out of 29 targeted districts of the country since inception last year.

In an interview with Radio Islam programs manager for Malaria control program in the ministry says has completed all districts in southern region except Zomba due to ongoing processes in the district.

According to Dr Lumbani Munthali the project targets 19.6 million people from the purchased 11.7 million nets.

However Dr Munthali says increase in cost of living and population growth, have affected the projections as current estimates indicate an increase of the country’s population to 21 million.

He has therefore requested the beneficiaries to use the opportunity wisely in combating Malaria.
