Minister promotes adult literacy education

Minister of civic education, culture and community development has asked people in the country to help in raising awareness about adult literacy education.

Grace Obama Chiumia has said this during a press briefing in Lilongwe organized to inform the general public about this year’s commemoration of Literacy day in Malawi.

Chiumia said “the commemorations will take place in Mzimba under the theme literacy and skills development.”

She said the survey of 2017 found that literacy rate was at 73 percent which means illiteracy level is high in the country.
