MCP to hold Convention in August 2024

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) says will hold its elective convention in August 2024.

MCP Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka has disclosed this during a press briefing in Lilongwe today.

Mkaka said this was agreed at MCP National Executive Committee meeting on November 21, 2022.

According to Mkaka, his office will announce exact dates of the convention at an appropriate time.

He says all positions in the party, including of the presidency, will be up for grabs.

According to Mkaka currently they are concentrating on preparations for the convention not on formation of an electoral alliance
