MCCCI Postpones Trade Fair
Political tension in the country has forced the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) to postpone this year’s International Trade Fair.
According to MCCCI statement made available to Radio Islam, exhibitors from various countries except Zimbabwe have withdrawn their participation, citing existence of political uncertainty and tension in the country.
“Countries like Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia and China were expected to participate in the Fair which was scheduled to be held from 20 – 30 June 2019 under the theme “Achieving Competitiveness through Integration into Regional Value Chains,” reads the statement
MCCCI therefore said the fair has been shifted to 6 – 15 August, 2019 by which time they expect the tension will be over.
