MAM restores donor’s trust

Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has said it is putting all resources to their best use in order to maintain the trust it has restored in donor partners.

National Chairman of (MAM), Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad, said this during the official opening of a new masjid at Ngwale Village Traditional Authority Mchema in Chiradzulu district.

Sheikh Muhammad said for 25 years MAM has not constructed a masjid because donors pulled out their aid.

“Let me commend World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) for playing a vital role in mending the relationship between MAM and donor partners,” said Sheikh Muhammad.

He assured Muslims in the country that he will make sure that each and every penny is being used for its intended purpose.

In his remarks, one of the officials from WAMY, Sheikh Ismael Mtewa, said he is pleased to note that MAM is fulfilling the promises it made to donors.

“WAMY assisted MAM to restore the relationship with other organizations as many poor Muslim Malawians were suffering,”disclosed Sheikh Mtewa.

On his part Executive Director of MAM, Stoti Watch, told Radio Islam that his organization is now targeting to build new masjids in remote areas as the majority of Muslims are living in rural areas.

“I thank Muslims in the area for moulding enough bricks which have been used in the construction of the masjid,” Watch expressed his happiness.

The masjid was constructed with financial support from Dubai Charity Association.
