MAM embarks on program of constructing schools, clinics

Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) says has embarked on a program of constructing schools and clinics where ever there is a Masjid.

The national Chairman of MAM, Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad revealed the plans when he officially opened Makanjila grand Masjid, orphanage centre, clinic and Mpilipili Boys and Girls Secondary school in the area of Senior Chief Makanjila in Mangochi district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sheikh Muhammad, said much as he understands that MAM has constructed many Masjids in the country it’s time now that it should provide social amenities like schools and clinics.

“It is the wish of MAM that Muslims are not walking long distances searching for a masjid, school or a health facility,” said Sheikh Muhammad

Speaking earlier, Senior Chief Makanjila, expressed gratitude to MAM leadership for the structures constructed in his area.

Senior Chief Makanjila added that “the structures will in one way reduce the challenges people were going through.”

Makanjila grand masjid is one of the biggest masjids MAM has constructed since in memorial.
