Malawi’s Main Opposition Party Woos Voters in By-elections
Malawi congress party MCP has wooed communities in Malindi ward, Mangochi district to vote for its candidate Ambrose Hamisi in the by-election on Tuesday 10th April 2018.
MCP President Dr Lazarus Chakwera made the appeal on Saturday at Malindi technical skills centre on the last day of campaign period for the elections.
“Malawi needs leaders who have integrity and can take care of tax payers’ money for the country to develop,” Chakwera said
He expressed sadness on the attacks of MCP supporters at Milonde ward in Mulanje.
Chakwela then said the door is open for people who want to compete at any position during MCP convention.
“I plead with voters to vote for MCP in 2019 as it will handle all sectors handsomely for development to take shape in the country,” appealed Chakwera
Speaking at the same rally Sidik Mia expressed worry over many challenges Malawi faces though the country has been independent for 53 years.
“I will drill 20 boreholes as well as wells and to donate 5 million kwacha to communities in Malindi ward once Hamisi wins the by-election,” Mia pledged.
The by-election at Malindi ward will be held after the death of its councilor in December last year.
