Malawi receives first fuel through Marka Railway
The first bulk of fuel has been delivered in Malawi through the newly rehabilitated Marka railway line in Nsanje from Beira in Mozambique
The 1.2 million litres of fuel has been received by National Oil Company of Malawi NOCMA in the presence of the president.
Speaking after receiving the train chairperson of NOCMA Colleen Zamba says they expect to be receiving 10 million litres of fuel a day through marka railway line
Zamba said the resumption of the railway operations after 41 years break will speed up transportation of goods from Beira to Blantyre by a reduction from 6 days to 1 day
In his speech President Lazarus Chakwera said the marka railway line will boost economic activities but criticized people who accuse him of failing to lead the country
