Malawi president tells universities to solve their problems
President Prof Arthur Peter Muthalika has asked universities in the country to create different initiatives in order to solve some of the challenges they are facing.
Muthalika said this in Mzuzu during the graduation ceremony for Mzuzu University.
According to the president if universities and colleges are able to solve some of the problems on their own it can help government.
“Government has a lot of work to do for its people therefore it is high time universities came up with strategies of solving their problems than relying on it always,” emphasised Professor Mutharika.
Professor Muthalika has commended Mzuni for embarking on an initiative of helping needy students with school fees.
Speaking during the same function Vice chancellor of Mzuzu University asked the graduants to be committed to their work saying doing so will help in the development of the country.
