Malawi Police to ban Matola

Assistant commissioner of police in Mangochi McPherson Matowe says 68 people died last year in road accidents in the district.

Matowe said many accidents were caused by drivers of Matola because a lot of people relied on them as a mode of transport.

“Banning Matola drivers is the only way to protect lives of people from road accidents in the district,” said Chitowe.

He therefore advised Malawians to travel in roadworthy vehicles and warned that once banned any matola driver will face the law.
