MALAWI PARLIAMENT APPEALS TO VOTERS TO RE-ELECT THE ONLY MUSLIM FEMALE MP

Women Caucus in Parliament has appealed to voters in the area of senior chief Chimwala to re-elect the only female MP Aisha Mambo Adams who is the MP for Mangochi Mkungulu constituency in 2019 tripartite elections for development to continue in the area.

Speaking to the gathering at Changali after touring some of the developmental projects in the constituency, Chairperson for Women Caucus in parliament Dr Jessy Kabwira said Adams has done a commendable job.

Kabwira said her committee is ready to support Adams and all women MPs for Malawi to achieve 50-50 campaign.

“When a country has more women representation in parliament it helps to pass bills which are good for the majority,” Dr Kawira said.

In her speech MP for Mangochi Nkungulu constituency Aishah Mambo Adams commended women Caucus in parliament for its support.

“I am committed to develop the area in the next 5 years,” said Adams.

In his turn senior chief Chimwala promised to support Mambo in 2019 tripartite elections.
