Malawi launches TB in mining sector project

Ministry of health and population in conjunction with civil society organizations have launched the second phase of TB in mining sector TIMS project aimed at eradicating the disease.

Speaking during the launch programs Manager for TB Control Program in the Ministry Dr James Mpunga said the project started in 2008 to control TB among mining population.

“we are implementing the project in three districts after noting more cases of TB in the sector,” Dr Mpunga

In her remarks acting executive director of MANASO Wezzie M’jojo said within the project they are also focusing on finding challenges that women in the mining sector face and address them
