Malawi judiciary to stage strike

Malawi Judiciary has said will hold a national wide strike tomorrow to force government fulfill its promise on house allowances.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula said members of staff wrote Ministry of Finance on the matter but failed to act on their grievances.

“It is regrettable for the judicial staff to be on strike as this will delay conclusion of cases.

Reacting to the strike, Malawi Judiciary Management has said the intended withdrawal of labour has not been done in full compliance with required procedures.

“Failure to report for duties will be considered absenteeism,” reads the press release.
