Majilis Ulama Council of Malawi Requests Ruling Party’s Governor to Apologize to Muslims and Step-down.

Majilis Ulama Council of Malawi has requested DPP eastern region governor Julis Pipe to apologise to Muslims and step down for the party to maintain its momentum in Mangochi.

Chairperson of Majilis Ulama council of Malawi Mangochi chapter Sheikh Abubakar Labson Allie made the request during a press conference aimed at expressing concerns over Pipe’s insulting remarks he made on Muslims that they are violent people.

“Muslims are peacemakers and promote unity not war mongers,” Sheikh Allie said

He cited the burning of masjids in central region but Muslims did not revenge.

Therefore Sheikh Allie said Paipi should apologize to Muslims and resign.
