KCH Laundry Attendant arrested of Medical Supplies Theft
Kamuzu Central Hospital KCH laundry attendant Feston Mphonde, 33, has been arrested over theft of 300 pieces of medical syringes and 30 urinal bags
Mphonde was assigned to work as a gas cylinder wheeler on Sunday, 16th February at the Hospital
After taking Oxygen Cylinders to Ward 4A for females and noticing that nurses were away attending to patients in other wards the suspect entered into a treating room within the same ward where he stole the said medical equipment
However he was stopped by security guards while existing the ward and upon searching the laptop bag he was carrying this is when the syringes and urinal bags were discovered
He was immediately handed over to Area 33 Police Unit at KCH before being taken to Area 3 Lilongwe where is currently being held
The suspect will appear in court soon to answer a case of theft by public servant
He hails from Mphonde Village, Traditional Authority Chiseka in Lilongwe District.
