HRDC to hold demonstrations for speedy Msundwe violence investigations
Human Rights Defenders Coalition HRDC has said will hold demonstrations demanding fast investigations and arrest of police officers who were involved in Msundwe rape case.
Speaking to the press the grouping’s vice chairperson Gift Trapence said police is aware of the suspects despite failing to present its findings on the matter.
Trapence said they will make sure police officers who allegedly committed the crime are dealt with accordingly.
“The issue is taking longer as they want justice to prevail at any cost,” he says
He went on to say that they will ask member states in Africa to ban Malawi police service from attending the meetings among African countries.
Trapence then said it is unbelievable to see that the police are saying that they are still investigating the matter yet they know the officers who were on duty during the occurrence of the incident.
