High court refutes social media reports on elections case ruling day

Registrar of High court has refuted social media reports that judgment of presidential elections case will be delivered on 27^th January.

Agness Patemba says the judges are still preparing the ruling as the evidence and documents presented in the constitutional court were huge.

However, Patemba said the judgment will be delivered between 27^th January and 3^rd February.

“The date of the ruling will be announced through the mass media not social media,” emphasised Patemba

The constitutional court had announced that it will deliver the judgment within 45 days after it finished hearing the case on 20^th December 2019.

UTM President Dr Saulo Chilima and MCP leader Dr Lazarus Chakwera applied to court to nullify results of presidential election which was won by President Professor Peter Mutharika.
