Government introduces platform to address national interest issues

Government has introduced a new platform called face the press aimed at addressing issues of national interest

Launching the platform Minister of information Gospel Kazako and attorney general Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda said it will be held weekly with different government officials

Kazako says the platform will be providing chance to the media to ask questions on various matter of national appeal

He said his ministry is introducing digital system to identify owners of companies who are being awarded contracts

In his remarks attorney general said parliament has given him power to recover all illegally acquired wealth

“Government is working towards recovering the money that were realized through the sale of Malawi Savings Bank,” Nyirenda

He said has received almost 3000 complaints hence investigating to find the truth of the matter

The attorney general says government will not pay salary to any public officer who is on interdiction
