Gift of the Givers calls for coordinated efforts among Islamic organizations in Ramadhan

Gift of the Givers calls for coordinated efforts among Islamic organizations in distributing Ramadhan food packs to needy Muslims.

The call has come as Gift of the Givers is reaching out to Muslims affected by cyclones Ana and Gombe in 12 districts with 7,800 Ramadhan food packs.

Speaking to Radio Islam Malawi after distributing Ramadhan food packs to 150 Muslims at Aisha Masjd in the area of group village headman Gonani, Traditional authority KuNthembwe in Blantyre, Gift of the Givers Acting Country Manager Sharifa Mia said during Ramadhan period, a lot of poor Muslims in rule and hard to reach area do luck proper meals to break their fasting hence calling other Islamic organizations to reach out to them.

Mia said  there is a need for Islamic organizations to work together and not duplicate the efforts by reaching  out to Muslims who are in towns alone adding most needy Muslims are in rule areas and most of them, are reverts who need support from  organizations.

“This is why the organization decided to donate Ramadhan  7800 Ramadhan food packs to Muslims who were affected by cyclones in areas of Chikwawa, Blantyre, Zomba, Machinga,  Mulanje,  Thyolo, Mangochi and Salima districts respectively,” Mia

Speaking after receiving the donation, some of the beneficiaries at Aisha masjd in the area of group village headman Goman, Ferix Rajab and mainatu Bashir thanked Gift of the Givers for the timely donation adding they have something to put on the table when breaking their fast.

Ferix and mainatu say “most Muslims in the area luck decent meals during this time of Ramadan hence the coming in of gift of the givers will boost their moral during this month of Ramadhan.”

Among other things, the ramadhan food pack consist of  cooking oil, packets of rice, maize flour, packets of sugar,  and salt  just to mention a few.
