Fuel Prices Slashed In Malawi

Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has reduced fuel prices effective 12 January, 2019.

According to press release signed by MERA chief executive officer Dr Collins Magalasi they have resolved to slash down the pump prices and wholesale prices after it assessed the downward trend of fuel prices on the international market.

“Petrol pump price is now at 868, 00 kwacha, Diesel is at 874, 00 kwacha while paraffin at 710, 50 kwacha,” Magalasi said.

Few months ago MERA increased fuel prices and many groups of people criticized it because they were stable at international market.
