ESCOM, EGENCO Launch Automatic Generation System

Electricity Supply Cooperation of Malawi ESCOM and Electricity Generation Company EGENCO have launched automatic generation control system for provision of reliable power

Speaking during the launch minister of energy Ibrahim Matola says the commissioning of the system will ensure sustainable, efficient and resilient energy supply to all Malawians

Matola says digitalization of energy system will enhance development of the country

One of the board of directors of ESCOM Dr Jacob Mazalale said with the automated system management of demand and supply of electricity will graduate from manual to digital

He said the company will be serving its customers diligently though the new system

On his part acting chief executive officer for EGENCO Dr Maxon Chitawo said have been assured that the system will work beyond their expectations and improve service delivery

The event started with a parade from Old Town Hall to Mount Soche hotel where Matola received gift in recognition for the role he played in promoting unity between ESCOM and EGENCO among others
