Dr Muluzi thanks constitutional court judges

Former president of Malawi Dr Bakili Muluzi has thanked all the five judges who formed the constitutional court for their dedication to constitution and the rule of law.

Dr Muluzi has said this after Constitutional court nullified presidential elections results and ordered fresh elections within 150 days.

In a press release he says unanimous decision has demonstrated to the world the strength of democracy.

The former president also thanked people of Malawi for the peaceful conduct which has been noticed in Africa and around the world.

“Malawi has marked a significant moment in history and the example set will be under closer scrutiny,” Dr Muluzi saya

The former president has therefore appealed to all leaders, political parties and their supporters to ensure that they have understood the judgment.

He says the country can only move forward if it is with the continued spirit of a free and fair democracy and committed to the development of all Malawians.
