DPP reassigns Elections Director to Presidential Advisor

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has reassigned Director of Elections Gladys Ganda to position of Presidential Advisor following her speech at Chakwera’s rally.

Ganda’s reassignment comes barely three weeks after being elected at the party’s elective conference.

According to the press release made available to Radio Islam, the appointment is with immediate effect.

But commenting on the matter, political science lecturer at Blantyre International University, Latim Matenje, described the move a threat to intraparty democracy.

Matenje DDP should learn from the past mistakes so that Malawians can trust them as the country is approaching the next year’s general elections.

Matenje however also condemned the tendency of ruling party of buying members from the opposition.
