Cyclone Jude affects over 11000 People in 9 Districts

Cyclone Jude has affected over 11370 people approximately 2527 households in nine councils

In its update on impacts of the cyclone Department of disaster management affairs DODMA says Phalombe district council has recorded the highest number of affected people seconded by Nsanje

Commissioner of the Department Charles Kalemba says out of the affected people 3029 have been displaced and six camps established to provide shelter

Kalemba says 15 people have sustained injuries and rescue operations are being conducted following reports of flooding around Thuchira River and capsizing of a boat in Ruo River that led to missing of three people
