Concerned Chitipa citizens demand MRA officers transfer
Concerned Citizens of Chitipa have demanded the removal of Malawi Revenue Authority MRA officers from Mbilima boarder post in a bid to force government to construct good road that connects Chitipa central business.
In a letter addressed to Officer In charge of Chitipa MRA office and district commissioner, the concerned citizens accuse MRA of daylight robbery and hypocrisy for collecting revenue at the said boarder but the road is in bad shape.
Speaking to Radio Islam, leader of the group Davie Msongole said “we have been petitioning their concerns about the road to relevant authorities for over 20 years but the road is still the same.”
Msongole said they have given MRA 7 days to move from the border post until government constructs the road failing which they will resort to unspecified actions.
