CISANET trains journalists on open contracting, public procurement
Civil Society Agriculture Network CISANET has equipped media practitioners with knowledge and skills on open contracting an procurement in Malawi.
In an interview with radio Islam communications manager for CISANET Dyson Mthawanji said they organized the training so that journalists can write evidence based stories.
“The training will assist journalists to follow public procurement and disposal of assets by authorities to ensure transparency and accountability in government institutions,” added Mthawanji
He said CISANET together with Hivos have been watching public procurement so that it is beneficial to Malawians.
In his remarks one of the trainees Vitumbiko Jana commended CISANET for the training saying the skills will assist her have more interest in writing about procurement and acquire information on how government funds are being managed.
