Chinese National arrested of K70m Theft in Malawi

Chinese national Wang Jixiang has been arrested for allegedly diverting 70 million kwacha he took for banking at his company and squandered on gambling

Police has also arrested Wen Jui 50 on suspicion of harbouring the suspect 27

It is said that Wang who works as a shop manager and was advised by his employer who is outside the country to take the money for banking

However after allegedly taking the money, driving his employer’s vehicle the suspect went missing and his phone went out of reach

Following receiot of Wang’s missing report police instituted investigations and search which later discovered that he was hiding in Area 43 at the second Jui’s house

During interrogation Wang revealed to have used the said amount for gambling and that he dumped his employer’s vehicle near Bwaila District Hospital

Wang Jixiang and Wen Jui will be charged with theft by servant and harboring respectively
