Chief electrocuted in Mangochi
A 57 year old Village Headman Assani whose real name was Stand Ayami, has been electrocuted in Mangochi district
The tragedy took place at Chipunga Estates under Traditional Authority Bwananyambi
It is reports that chief Assani was a well-known tinsmith and left his house on the night of September 11 for unknown destination but his body was discovered under ESCOM power lines with severe burn injuries
Public relations officer for Mangochi Police Station Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi said police officers, along with medical personnel and ESCOM officials, arrived at the scene where Assani’s body was found holding a hacksaw in his right hand.
A piece of ESCOM wire and fragments of the hacksaw were scattered around him.
