CDEDI demands explanation from Minister of finance on forex status
Centre for Democracy and Economic Development CDEDI has demanded an explanation from Minister of finance and economic affairs Sosten Gwengwe on the status of forex
In a letter to Gwengwe CDEDI says its findings indicate that the three and half imports cover that was three prior to the ascendance of tonse alliance government to power has totally been depleted
Executive director Silvestor Namiwa says adds that the business community has for the past two years struggled to get forex to meet their import demands
“At some point they used to find some solace in the Rand and the Euro, which can hardly be found in the commercial banks today,” Namiwa
Therefore CDEDI has asked the minister of finance to explain the policies being put in place to resuscitate economy because the Kwacha continues weakening
