CDEDI challenges Ministers on Life style Audit
Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives CDEDI has challenged cabinet ministers to provide their lifestyle audit.
Speaking during a press briefing CDEDI executive director, Sylvester Namiwa said time has come for Malawians to utilize section 12 of the constitution which provides right to citizens to enquire on how public officers obtain and utilize public funds.
Namiwa alleges that some government officials are syphoning forex to black market which is affecting prices of commodities on the market.
He says this is why CDEDI has come up with an initiative dubbed “the people power forum” aimed at naming and shaming those that threaten lives and Malawi’s economy.
The CDED executive director says it is even worrisome to see that security agencies are quite when public officers are abusing state funds through their luxurious life styles.
