Assessment of buildings in BT and Limbe to finish this month
Blantyre City Council has said technical experts in building are expected to complete assessment of buildings in Limbe and Blantyre this month.
Deputy Mayor Wild Ndipo said this during a press briefing aimed at informing the nation on the progress of the Red Star Campaign.
Ndipo who is chairing the Campaign’s committee said a taskforce of experts will start checking the buildings on June, 15.
“The council has a list of buildings that need attention therefore the experts will examine both inside and outside,” said Ndipo.
In his presentation director of town planning and estates services Costly Chadza said the taskforce will be in Limbe from June 15 to 19 while in Blantyre from June 22 to 26.
The council has therefore invited stakeholders mainly business owners and operators to a meeting on June 8 for an interactive session on the Red Star Campaign.
President Professor Peter Mutharika re-launched the campaign on February 23 after touring Limbe and Blantyre.
